WORK
Community WorkshopBreaking Bread’s first component was a zine workshop and potluck gathering held on March 17, 2025, at 808 Commonwealth Ave. Participants were invited to bring a recipe that told a story about themselves and then engaged in a guided zine-making workshop and conversation.
Organized like a recipe, the workshop unfolded in four phases—mise en place, marination, fermentation, and digestion—encouraging participants to enter a “discomfort zone” and engage with unfamiliar flavors and perspectives. Designed to foster empathy and exchange cultural and personal narratives, the workshop explored food as a tool for social impact and personal growth.
